Còisir Ghàidhlig Ìleach Ghlaschu ¦ The Glasgow Islay Gaelic Choir

The choir was formed by members of the Glasgow Islay Association in 1944. In immediate post-war years, many of the members had connections with the home island, but today's members have backgrounds in both Gaelic and non-Gaelic speaking areas of Scotland and even beyond. The choir has had considerable success particularly at the Royal National Mod, and also at the Pan-Celtic Festival in Ireland and at the Vancouver Mod. Since 1991, the choir has been conducted by Mod Medalist Kirsteen Grant.

Choir practice:

Rehearsals occur every Monday during school term-time, 7.30pm, at the Glasgow Gaelic School.
