WEST END FESTIVAL 2015

An Lòchran had another successful year at the 2015 West End Festival, with 6 community Gaelic events drawing over 80 participants.

Families with children under 5 had a great time at the two children’s Bookbug events, in collaboration with Comhairle nan Leabhraichean. A great time was had by all with session leader Linda MacLeod leading songs, games and stories on the theme of The Sea and Aliens! Parents said: “Great session for my daughter!” “Fìor mhath – taing mhòr!”

Audiences were also given the opportunity to learn Gaelic songs of a particular theme from three well-known Gaelic singers: Joy Dunlop, Calum Ross and Murdo ‘Wasp’ MacDonald. Participants said: “Oidhche fìor mhath”, “Keep up the good work!”

An Lòchran rounded off their Gaelic events at the festival with a Gaelic traditional music session in the Lismore, which was a great night of Gaelic music and song. This was in addition to An Lòchran’s regular monthly Gaelic music sessions in the Lismore, which takes place on the first Wednesday of each month.
